1st impressions Truck Lettering wraps cars and trucks for a living so why would we write an article encouraging you to NOT wrap your vehicle?
It’s simple really… we want to have you avoid throwing your money away on poor design choices. If you are going to spend good, hard earned money, you should expect a return on your marketing investment. Although a wrapped vehicle is probably the best “bang for your buck," it assumes that your wrapped truck attracts attention.
99 times out of 100 it will not attract attention if you have your neighbor design your logo. Heck, they got an A in art in high school or they have CorelDraw on their computer so they must be good right, WRONG. A professional designer is exactly that, a professional. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “don’t try this at home,” and this applies to your logo and company branding.
It does not get attention if you want to list all 57 services your company does on the side of your van, along with your logo, website, phone and email along with it. LESS IS MORE and this is the case with your branding.
What else doesn’t work? A whole bunch of pictures cluttering up the design so much the company name and information ends up lost in the “graphics.” Your potential customer will be lost before they even try to remember you.
So how can you stand out from the crowd, and on the crowded roadway?
- Be Unique.
- Be clean, professional and easy to read.
- Give your audience a reason to want to look at your moving billboard.
Take a test for yourself, take notice of all the wrapped vehicles you see on a daily basis and ask yourself if you like what you see… or if you don’t, why not. Sorry to say but a large percentage of vehicle wraps on the road today are mediocre at best. Are those business owners getting the biggest bang out of what they spent on the wrap? Probably not, but, they did get the cheapest price.

That $3.00 daily coffee costs $1095 a year. For 3 years it’s $3285. We’ve quoted customers a logo design and wrap near $3,000 and they’ve about choked that coffee up. That’s at only $3.00 a day…is your business worth that much? By the way, most vehicle wraps are not $3,000 and do last longer than 3 years.
